Networking

The Chamber creates opportunities for people to meet, network and do business. Some ways to make contacts include:

• Monthly Membership Luncheons featuring a different speaker each month on topics that are important to the business community.

• Monthly Networking Breakfasts (Morning Schmooze) offer a great way to promote your business and network with other chamber members. FREE to attend!

• Business After Hours held every month, featuring great food, networking and prizes. FREE to attend!

• Annual events such as the Taste of Vegas, Firecracker Run, Golf Tournament, Trivia Night and Speed Networking.

• Leads Groups are groups of individuals that meet to assist members in developing and promoting their business through referrals, assist members in achieving a higher standard through the open discussion of new and old ideas, and to create an environment of trust and loyalty to one another. Only one representative from each industry is allowed per leads group.

Exposure

The Chamber promotes your organization to the public and business community in several ways:

• A Free listing on the Chamber’s Web Site is a way for your business to gain exposure through hundreds of thousands of website hits every month.

• Every memeber receives a Free 1-Page Website (Traffic Catch Site) through our system to personalize.

• Our eNewsletter is emailed each month to all members plus residents and business who want to be in the know; over 1,000 people each month. Advertising is available to Chamber Members only. Members are welcome to send press releases, event information, and employment opportunities to the Chamber to be included in the monthly newsletter for FREE.

• Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings and Open Houses are provided for new or expanding businesses at no cost.

• The Monday Memo is an e-mail update sent out to all members each week with short articles about upcoming events, issues facing businesses and member submitted information.

• The Chamber’s Membership Directory & Community Profile is an annual publication that contains two free listings of your business; by name and business type. Printed at the beginning of the year, this publication is distributed to every Chamber member as well as 8,500 residents in O’Fallon and is included in our relocation packets. Low-cost display ads are also available for purchase.

• Sponsorships for events such as the Taste of Vegas, Firecracker Run, Golf Tournament, Trivia Night and Monthly Luncheons gives members an opportunity to showcase their businesses and products to other members.

• The Chamber receives hundreds of request each year for goods and services to be purchased in our area. We only refer Chamber members to visitors, newcomers, businesses and residents over the phone, through our website and in our Membership Directory & Community Profile. We also offer a great location in the Chamber office for our businesses to display their cards and marketing pieces.

Professional Development

The Chamber is dedicated to improving your abilities to achieve success in your business or professional life.

  • Chairman’s Book Club: The Book Club will be reading some of the best business books and articles in 2013 on topics such as leadership, sales, strategy, and management. Books and articles will be avaialbel through the Chamber office.Meets: In person and/or online for group discussions.

  • Tech/Comm Meetings: This county wide committee keeps current with new technologies and educates small businesses on how they can benefit from the latest technologies and communications. Meets: 3rd Thursday of each month, 12:00 p.m. at Spencer Road Library.

Legislative Issues

The Chamber works very closely with our local, state and federal legislators to stay in touch with what is going on in our community, state and nation. Every year, the Chamber sends representatives to Jefferson City to meet with our state level elected officials and discuss issues affecting businesses in the county.

  • Legislative Awareness Lunches: Interested in what is going on at all levels of government, local, state and federal? The committee will meet to discuss legislation effecting businesses, recommend resolutions to bring to the Board of Directors as necessary, and hear from informative speakers on pertinent topics. Meets: 3rd Friday of each month, 12:00 p.m. at Rendezvous Cafe & Wine Bar.
